Jayne Gershkowitz, active in the rare disease community for almost 14 years, is now bringing her patient advocacy perspective to th broader biotech arena. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Healthcare Institute of New Jersey, the Government Relations Committee of BIO, recently co-founded the Patient Advocacy Committee of BioNJ which she co-chairs, and is a member of the Program Committee for the 2nd Annual US Conference on Rare Diseases and Orphan Products co-sponsored by NORD and DIA. She serves as Vice President of Education of the Board of Directors of National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association, and is a former vice chair of NORD-National Organization for Rare Disorders. 

Ms. Gershkowitz often speaks on issues affecting the patient community and about the partnership between patients and industry in orphan drug development. She has chaired sessions in Bioethics,

Policy and Clinical Trials tracks at the annual BIO International Convention, and will speak on Sales and Patient-Centric Market Planning during a panel at this year’s BIO in Boston. 

Ms. Gershkowitz joined Amicus in June 2006. She is responsible for relationship management with US and international patient organizations, directing the company’s educational grants and charitable giving program, strategizing all aspects of patient outreach and education related to clinical trial recruitment and working collaboratively on cross-functional program teams to implement these strategies. She gives voice to patient concerns, such as access, reimbursement and disease management on cross-functional teams, including alliance teams, and founded Amicus’ Patient Advisory Boards program.

 A Boston native, Ms. Gershkowitz is a graduate of Syracuse University and studied at the Radcliffe Graduate Seminars Program.
